About The Role

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of robust governance processes and frameworks that support effective asset management, information integrity and regulatory compliance across a diverse infrastructure portfolio.

You will apply contemporary asset management techniques to inform asset strategies for transport, water, wastewater, solid waste and open space assets, while contributing to the ongoing enhancement of asset investment decision-making and risk frameworks. The position is responsible for managing internal and external audits and effectiveness reviews, reporting on outcomes and ensuring all activities align with legislative requirements, regulatory obligations and corporate policies and standards.

You will work closely with Business Services to ensure financial modelling, reporting and asset investment priorities are well integrated, and proactively identify and champion improvements to asset management systems across the Infrastructure and Operations Division. As a people leader, you will coach and mentor direct reports, ensuring performance and development plans are in place, and demonstrate visible safety leadership through active participation in safety audits and inspections.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

Degree in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent) and eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia. Proven ability to effectively lead a team of people and proactively shape work culture using work processes and personal leadership behaviours. Demonstrated experience in contemporary asset management developing strategies and plans that balance performance, cost and risk to customer service levels. Significant experience working across the asset lifecycle (Creation, commissioning, operation, asset and maintenance strategy development, capital planning, asset risk management, etc.). Highly demonstrated experience in providing sophisticated strategic engineering advice to all asset related queries. Demonstrated experience in developing asset management frameworks and systems (ISO 55000 series or similar). Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and guidelines relating to the QLD Local Government Act and appropriate asset management standards.
