We have immediate opportunities for a skilled leader to support ASC employees undertaking world-leading training in Pearl Harbor (Hawaii). The International Training Support Lead - Engineering will lead and support the group of nominated Deployment Leads within the Engineering discipline, whilst providing leadership and guidance to the assignees.
Placements are due to deploy in August 2026 and will be between 18 – 24 months in duration.
Responsibilities
In the role of International Training Support Lead - Engineering, your responsibilities are:
- Support the team in setting clear, and actionable goals to deliver strategic objectives.
- Identify and solve potential risks to the SSN-Sustainment Program and our personnel.
- Report directly to the International Training Support Manager and provide support and feedback, to assist ASC management in setting clear and consistent guardrails.
- Mentor and guide team members and provide them with the tools and expertise to achieve their professional goals, whilst developing a positive team culture.
Desired Skills and Experience
- The position requires the individual to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a complex dynamic environment.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent level of engineering knowledge, communication, written skills, excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Strong understanding of safety process management within an operational environment
Eligibility Criteria
The successful applicant must possess:
- Australian Citizenship
- An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance
- Bachelor level qualifications in a technical discipline relevant to Engineering
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience with a strong emphasis on supporting operational delivery within a complex program.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership position
- Relevant professional credentials, including Engineers Australia (CPEng/CEngT/CEngA) or equivalent (mandatory)
Additional Details
During deployment, you will receive on the job training combined with instructor led classroom training. This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.
At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and in-water maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines. Repatriation to WA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying.
Please note: This is a Civilian role and recruitment processes will differ from those undertaken in Active Service Defence recruitment.
