About the Position:

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to step into a Department Manager role, leading their Property & Commercial team and taking a seat on the broader practice management group.

This is a standout opportunity for a senior practitioner who has previously led a division, team, or practice group (formally or informally) and enjoys shaping performance, client experience, and workflows—while still running engaging, high-value matters.

You’ll inherit a strong pipeline of work from an established client base and referral network, supported by a centralised administration function (no traditional 1:1 secretarial model), modern practice systems (including LEAP), and a team structure featuring lawyers, graduates and paralegal support.

Type of work you’ll lead and oversee includes:

• Residential conveyancing (sales, purchases, off-the-plan and related matters)
• Commercial property transactions (acquisitions/disposals, due diligence)
• Retail and commercial leasing (landlord and tenant)
• Property-related business and commercial matters (as required)
• Cross-border matters where relevant (QLD/NSW experience advantageous)

Key Requirements:

• Senior commercial property experience, ideally with a broad property mix
• Demonstrated leadership experience (head of team/division, or equivalent)
• Confidence managing inbound enquiries and qualifying prospective work
• Strong client service mindset with excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to guide file progression, estimates, costs agreements and compliance
• Tech confidence; experience with LEAP and/or CRM systems is well regarded
• Australian practising certificate (or eligibility to hold one)
