About the business

Thomas Borthwick & Sons (Australia) Pty Ltd forms part of the NH Foods group of companies. The Company operates a beef processing facility in Mackay, Queensland.

About the role

The position will contribute to the proficient and timely resourcing of consumables and parts for the safe and continuous operation of the processing plant. This is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities but are not limited to:

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBLIITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

· Stock control and management of consumables for Mechanical and Production Stores

· Continuous improvement of stock systems and reporting.

· Inventory management , ad hoc as well as programmed Stock takes.

· Purchasing/stock system maintenance including re -order levels and minimum quantities

· Work closely with accounts to provide timely inputs and clarity of purchasing data for prompt supplier payment

· Maintain vendor relations and coordinate procurement of materials , equipment, supplies and services

· The ability to build and maintain strong working relationship with internal and external customers and suppliers

· Display good computer skills across the Microsoft Office Suite and databases such as SAP/ Oracle

· Operate in a safe manner ensuring own and others safety

· Complete relevant administration and reporting including document management

· Self management of time to deliver quality outcomes in a fast paced production environment.

· Manual Handling as required

· Load/Unload trucks as required

· Forklift Operation as required

· Current forklift licence required at time of application

Key skills and abilities:

· Good computer skills across the Microsoft office suite and management systems such as SAP and/or Oracle.

· Experience in a similar role

· Minimum 1-3 years experience in purchasing or storeman roles required

· Physically fit and able to do physical work.

· Reliable with a strong work ethic.

· Out-come focused individual with ability to work autonomously with in a team.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Understanding of safety and attention to detail.

· Ability to work in a busy, changing environment.

High level of attention to detail and time management
