An established Queensland-based legal practice is seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a law firm who is confident managing legal trust accounts and ensuring compliance with industry standards.You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of legal accounts and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and trust accounting compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesManaging legal trust and office accountsProcessing trust receipts, payments, and transfersPerforming daily and monthly trust account reconciliationsManaging billing and financial reporting using LEAP legal softwareSupporting end-of-month and end-of-year processesEnsuring compliance with Queensland Law Society (QLS) trust accounting requirementsLiaising with internal stakeholders, external accountants, and auditorsGeneral accounts and finance administration duties as required
About You2–3 years’ experience working as an Accounts Officer within an Australian legal firmProven experience with legal trust accounting (essential)Hands-on experience using LEAP softwareFamiliarity with QLS trust accounting rules and complianceStrong attention to detail and excellent numerical skillsAbility to work independently and manage competing deadlinesClear communication skills and a professional approach
