We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our production facility in Kapunda, SA.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability and performance of our mechanical equipment. You will play a key part in keeping our production operations running smoothly by carrying out preventative maintenance and responding quickly and effectively to unplanned breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing timely and effective repairs

  • Minimize downtime and improve overall equipment reliability

  • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend cost-saving initiatives

  • Provide technical expertise and diagnostic support

  • Complete daily prestart checks on all machinery and take action on any issues

  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance needs

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment condition and repairs performed

  • Participate in the after-hours call-out roster

  • Install, assemble and test new machinery and equipment

  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams on upgrades, repairs and new installations

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help refine SOP's

  • Maintain plant, tools and work areas

  • Uphold and promote all safety principles

What You Bring

  • A proactive, accountable approach to work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance and fault diagnostics

  • Sound mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial machinery

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and maintenance data

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or related discipline
