About the role
AGL has an exciting newly created opportunity for an Operations Coordinator to join our Hydro team based in Mount Beauty in North‑East Victoria.
In this role, you'll play a key role in ensuring the planning, coordination and execution of operations, outages and Permit to Work systems that support our Hydro sites and remote operations teams across the business.

What you'll be doing:
Managing the safe and efficient delivery of operational coordination across the Hydro Business Unit
Governing and managing AGL Hydro's centralised Permit to Work (PTW) system, including application review and approvals
Coordinating outages, change requests and plant access activities to minimise operational impacts
Supporting the ongoing management and improvement of assets in line with AGL's HSE Management System
Performing remote monitoring of plant in relation to access and isolation requirements
Coordinating and directing sequenced switching activities, including engagement with external agencies and networks
Working closely with site teams, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure safe systems of work across ownership boundaries
What you'll bring:
Technical qualifications or relevant experience within heavy industry or power generation
Experience with High Voltage switching operations
An understanding of water management and how it interacts with plant access and operations
Experience in the energy sector, ideally hydro or gas power generation, and associated electrical, mechanical or hydraulic infrastructure
Exposure to CMMS systems and electronic Permit to Work programs
A collaborative, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work across multiple teams and functions
Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to implement both short‑ and long‑term work programs
Understanding of relevant HSE legislation and safe systems of work
