Job Description

The Financial Accountant is responsible for general accounting tasks related to period end closing, SOX / financial statement audit support, and other Financial Operations accounting related work and compliance. Working closely with the Operational and Corporate Finance Teams, the Financial Accountant will support key initiatives including enhancing business processes and the optimization of the close process

Responsibilities

Responsible for general accounting tasks related to period end closing, SOX / financial statement audit support, and other Financial Operations accounting related work and complianceEnsures financial results related to contract revenue recognition, inventory valuation and At-Risk contracts are reported accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with GAAP, corporate and regulatory requirements, both pre and post auctionPreparation and/or review of monthly and quarterly working papers relating to inventory and risk contracts, ensuring proper classification and no material misstatementPrepares variance analysis for P&L and Balance SheetMaintains a solid understanding of the business, its transactional and contractual obligations and becomes directly involved in specific business issues and their resolutionPrepare balance sheet account reconciliationsPrepare statutory compliance reportingParticipation in special projects, committees, and other accounting duties/projects as may be assignedPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant experience preferred in an accounting or finance roleAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software. Oracle is an assetSolid understanding of bookkeeping competenciesExcellent mathematical skillsTime management skills
