Role details

The Public Health Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Team Leader (Environmental Health) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

The purpose of this role is to manage the operational delivery of environmental health services across the health service district to protect, promote, prevent, recognise, evaluate and control risks to the community arising from environmental health hazards that impact on the natural and built environment and human health.

Provide specialist advice on environmental health issues, across multi-specialty areas, and contribute to the development of environmental health practices, policies and protocols and operational plans.

The Mackay Public Health Unit (MPHU) delivers a range of services by focusing on protecting health, preventing disease, illness and injury; and promoting health and wellbeing as a community rather than individuals.
