About the role:

The successful candidate will support the major capital projects portfolio, providing expert Health, Safety, Environment and Training (HSE&T) guidance to the Capital Projects Leads, Project Managers and Construction teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all Contractors are in compliance with HSE&T systems, procedures and protocols through verification controls such as audits, workplace inspections, review of HSE&T Plans, and ongoing monitoring of HSE&T KPI’s and metrics.
  • Drive the delivery of the ‘Best Practice’ initiative across the Capital Project portfolio.
  • Provision of HSE&T facilitation, coaching, and guidance to deliver construction goals.
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with the client policies and procedures and relevant local Legislation & Regulations.
  • Assist with the delivery of site inductions and training as required.
  • Lead and regularly update Project Risk Assessments.
  • Review contractor's work methodologies to ensure risks are being adequately identified, and suitable controls are implemented.
  • Lead the Investigation processes and ensure the close out of assigned actions.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Desirable).
  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety (Preferred).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Desirable).
  • Statutory Supervision: BSBWHS414 & BSBWHS411 (Preferred).
  • More than 10 years experience in Mining Construction.
  • More than 4 years experience in a similar position.
  • More than 2 years of demonstrated Auditing Experience (Desirable).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Full Australian working rights.
  • This is a local role which will require the successful candidate to live within 45 minutes from site.

What you'll get in return:

  • 12-month assignment with possible extension;
  • Monday to Friday (some weekend work as required);
  • $75-$80 per hour, based on experience;
  • Superannuation paid for all hours worked.
  • Immediate start available.
  • Local role - be home every night.
