WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THE ROLE
• Lead the design and implementation of complex research projects consistent with QGSO's crime research agenda and sound research methodologies.
• Lead project teams and maintain project management processes in a manner that facilitates collaboration, development of team knowledge and capacity, and project accountability
• Support the reliable interpretation of data, provision of informed advice and management of competing work priorities by applying research knowledge and exercising good judgement.
• Communicate research findings through the preparation of high-quality research reports and presentations that satisfy QGSO standards for integrity, accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage and develop positive relationships within QGSO and between academia, other levels of Government, non-government organisations and other stakeholders.
• Represent the Office at state/commonwealth conferences, internal/external meetings, and interdepartmental working groups as required.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
• very good written and verbal communication skills
• very good data processing and analysis skills - high competency in R or ability to quickly acquire competency in R would be highly desirable
• very good organisational skills and the ability to navigate, lead and manage competing work priorities in complex and, at times, fast paced environments
• ability to apply effective judgement, communication and understanding of perspectives in developing solutions, working with others and translating research findings
• ability to assist in building the research capability of the team and/or project members.

A six month probation period applies.
