THE ROLE

We’re looking for skilled, reliable Workshop Fitter / Maintenance Technician to join a high-performance manufacturing environment where your hands-on expertise keeps automated production lines moving at full speed.

Whether you’re performing precision overhauls, fabricating components, welding repairs, diagnosing hydraulic/pneumatic faults, or supporting rapid breakdown response, your work directly impacts machine uptime, output quality and overall plant reliability.

This role is ideal for the person who thrives in fast-paced environments, taking pride in getting 'it right' the first-time, and understanding the real cost of downtime to the business.

Key Responsibilities Include

Planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support on automated, high-speed production equipment Fault diagnosis and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (including root cause analysis)Precision overhauls, machining, fabrication and welding of components Working on conveyors, gearboxes, sensors, actuators, and other critical mechanical systems Assisting with machine setups, changeovers and adjustments when required

ABOUT YOU

You’re an experienced Workshop Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or Mechanical Technician who enjoys getting hands dirty and solving problems under pressure. You bring a strong mechanical mindset, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in workshop fitting, precision overhauls, fabrication and welding in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Essential – solid hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics (diagnosis, repair, overhaul) Essential – current Forklift Licence and Elevated Work Platform (EWP / Boom or Scissor Lift) ticket Demonstrated exposure to JSEA’s, Safe Work Method Statements, and work permits Proactive attitude with a sense of urgency and strong focus on minimising downtime Ability to read technical drawings, use precision tools and perform root cause analysis
