Our work supports the upkeep of critical government assets, and our reputation is built on accountability, quality outcomes, and operational excellence.

As our business continues to evolve, we are seeking an experienced and decisive State Manager to lead our Western Australian operations. This role is pivotal in strengthening systems, uplifting performance, and driving positive cultural and operational change across a high-volume, geographically diverse contract.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the State Manager will assume full accountability for the successful delivery of a major Head Contractor Maintenance Contract across Western Australia, with particular responsibility for the East/West Kimberley, Wheatbelt, and Goldfields regions.

Based in our North Coogee office, this senior leadership role requires a strong, hands-on operator who can balance strategic oversight with operational discipline. You will lead multiple functional teams, enhance service delivery standards, and implement improvements that deliver greater efficiency, professionalism, and consistency across the contract.

Some intrastate travel is required to maintain strong site presence, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive contractual compliance by delivering KPIs across quality, operational, and financial performance within legislative requirements

• Provide end-to-end leadership of statewide maintenance operations, ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery

• Analyse operational and financial data to produce accurate client and internal performance reports

• Proactively respond to performance insights by implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives

• Manage and control the state budget to achieve business and contract targets

• Identify, design, and implement efficiency improvements while maintaining service quality and compliance

• Provide leadership and direction to Operations, Quality, and Project Managers to ensure consistent contract performance

• Oversee subcontractor engagement, procurement, and performance management

• Build a strong, accountable, and professional team culture through mentoring, coaching, and performance leadership

• Partner with senior leadership to deliver strategic and financial objectives

• Act as a change leader, embedding improved systems, processes, and ways of working across the state operation

Desired Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Building & Construction or a related discipline

• Builder’s Licence (preferred but not essential)

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in the building, asset maintenance, or related industry

• Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams

• Experience working with, or delivering services to, government departments (highly regarded)

• Proven change management experience, including the ability to lead and embed operational and cultural transformation

• Strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement and accountability

• Demonstrated capability managing trades, suppliers, and large-scale project budgets

• Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills

• High level of business and commercial acumen

• Excellent verbal, written, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at senior levels

• Strong technology skills across operational systems, databases, tablets, and Microsoft applications

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance

• Construction White Card

What We Offer

• A senior leadership role with a market-leading organisation

• The opportunity to drive meaningful change and leave a lasting impact on the business

• A supportive and experienced executive leadership team

• Access to employee benefits and development opportunities

• A diverse, inclusive, and values-driven workplace

• Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value diversity in our workforce. We encourage applications from candidates who are ready to lead with purpose, drive improvement, and elevate operational standards across a critical government services contract.
