You are an independent, proactive thinker and worker but are also able to follow direction/s given by your managers and can work within a tight-knit team.

About The Role

To Wellways, a Support Worker is as unique and individual as the participants they support. Our Support Workers come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, but they all share a common goal of empowerment and development of participants.

You will help participants flourish according to their own interests and goals to enable them to participate in a positive and confident manner within their community.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Minimum Qualification in Certificate 3 or 4 in Mental Health, Disability, Aged Care or Home and Community CareExpertise across a diversity of disability types, including mental healthPrevious hoisting/lifters, medications, and community access experience (desirable)

Evidence of working rights within Australia such as a passport or birth certificateA current valid Driver's License.NDIS Worker Orientation Module CertificateNational Police Records Check, Working with Children's Check - Employee and NDIS Worker Screening ClearanceFirst Aid certificate

The role of a SIL Support Worker is to provide in-home care and community access in the Geelong region, working as part of a broader team to enhance our participants quality of life and overall wellbeing. Applicants with experience supporting persons with complex behavioural needs, will be at an advantage.
