MALE Disability Support Worker (Mental Health & Behaviour Support)

Medika Care & Support Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Male Disability Support Worker to support participants with complex mental health and behavioural needs. This role requires confidence, resilience, and a strong background in managing challenging behaviours.

Employment Type ( Casual)

  • Minimum 30 hours per week

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health, or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience supporting mental health or behaviour support clients
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in the healthcare or disability sector, working with clients who have challenging behaviours
  • Experience in emergency or critical care settings is highly regarded
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check (if applicable)
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Medication administration competency, or willingness to obtain

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing strategies to prevent and manage challenging behaviours
  • Applying de-escalation techniques to reduce behaviours of concern
  • Managing unpredictable situations where participants may display challenging behaviour
  • Using positive behaviour support approaches, effective communication, and safe work practices
  • Supporting and assisting participants with daily living activities, including transportation
  • Working collaboratively with treating teams, support coordinators, and allied health professionals

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $33.90 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
