Job Description

The opportunity

Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the department trainer is responsible for managing the training function of the department in conjunction with the department managers requirements and compliance to company procedures. Ensuring all team members understand and adhere to all WHS&E, HR and QA requirements.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Participate in a dynamic team environment with other trainers to facilitate Swickers training needs.
  • Facilitate Department Induction for all New Starters (e.g. familiarise with entry/exit procedures).
  • Ensure compliance with the Swickers Company Training Procedures.
  • Review and update with Site Training Coordinator any QSWI’s/SOP’s that require amendment.
  • Assist in development of new QSWI’s and SOP’s as required.
  • Ensure that all new plant and equipment has the appropriate risk control measures in place (i.e. Risk Assessment on a new piece of plant and machinery in conjunction with HSE Manager.
  • Ensure that NO employee undertakes a new task without the development and commencement of an appropriate training program.
  • Accurate record keeping ensuring updated training matrix’s and training files are maintained.
  • Participate in supervisor meetings and provide feedback regarding training requirements and outcomes.
  • Ensure that General Evacuation Instructions are completed for all employees annually and that documented records are kept on file.
  • Provide weekly training reports to Team Leader – Health, Safety and Training on all training programs.
  • Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety, environment and welfare of our people and animals.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of training programs when required.
  • Ensure adherence to Instrument of Delegations and all other company policies.
  • Participate in the Section, Mentor and Supervising of “Buddy Trainers”.
  • Take an active role in WHS investigations and investigate any injuries relating to incorrect procedures when directed by the Plant Manager.

  • Flexibility around working hours

Desirable:

  • Cert IV Trainer and Assessor TAE
