Position Overview

Based at our Burnside Road, Stapylton site, Civilmart is seeking a skilled Concrete Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate sampling, testing, and reporting of concrete in both field and laboratory environments. The position requires regular travel across Southeast Queensland to attend construction sites and carry out field tests. You’ll ensure compliance with Australian Standards, TMR specifications, and NATA requirements while maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety, and quality. This is a hands-on role that supports major construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple sites across Southeast Queensland to collect concrete samples and perform field testing.
  • Perform sampling and testing of fresh concrete in accordance with AS 1012 and TMR specifications.
  • Prepare and handle concrete specimens for laboratory testing, including moulding, curing, and safe transport.
  • Conduct compression strength testing on hardened concrete specimens using calibrated equipment.
  • Accurately record and report test results through Geotester and other approved systems.
  • Collect concrete samples from construction sites daily, following correct sampling procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with site supervisors and project teams to coordinate testing schedules.
  • Maintain strict adherence to NATA accreditation and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained to regulatory standards.
  • Uphold strong health and safety practices, including manual handling of heavy materials.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records for all tests and assist with compliance documentation. 

What We Are Looking For

  • Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques, Materials Testing, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in concrete field and laboratory testing.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards, TMR specifications, and NATA requirements.
  • Previous experience using Geotester or similar reporting systems.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 15 litres of concrete per test.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
