About the Role
As the Stores Officer – Team Lead, you will coordinate daily warehouse activities while working alongside your team to ensure materials are received, stored, issued, and dispatched safely and accurately. You will support workflow discipline, system integrity, and continuous improvement across the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Stores Officers on shift, allocate tasks, and lead hands-on warehouse operations in line with daily priorities
- Maintain accurate stock records through correct receipting, issuing, audits, and discrepancy management.
- Oversee timely and accurate receipt, issue, freight, and urgent materials movements to support site operations.
- Enforce safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and high housekeeping standards across warehouse areas.
- Coach, mentor, and support Stores Officers to build capability, accountability, and a positive team culture.
- Ensure accurate ERP/WMS use, effective handovers, and support system and process improvements.
- Identify and implement improvements to reduce rework, stock discrepancies, and urgent freight.
About You
- You are a hands-on leader with strong warehouse and inventory experience, comfortable supervising others while remaining actively involved in operational work.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehousing or stores (mining or heavy industry preferred)
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Senior Stores Officer, Supervisor, or Team Lead
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse processes
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (Pronto, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar)
- Basic reporting and computer skills (Excel, email, system transactions)
- Licences
- Current LF High Risk Licence (Forklift)
- C Class Driver’s Licence
- HR/MR licence desirable but not essential
