Description

We’re seeking a motivated Light Vehicle technician to join our growing team and help us continue to deliver exceptional service.  We’re after someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and genuinely wants to contribute to a positive team environment.

Key Responsbilities

As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, your duties will include:

  • Performing general servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a range of makes and models (including petrol and diesel vehicles)

  • Working on a range of equipment including generators, forklifts, light vehicles, through to highway trucks and trailers.

  • Diagnosing mechanical faults efficiently using scan tools and manual diagnostics

  • Replacing and repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems

  • Perform mechanical repairs including installation and servicing of batteries, tyres, exhaust systems, and other components and drivetrain components

  • Maintaining accurate service records and job documentation

  • Working both independently and as part of a team

  • Conduct engine and transmission removals, replacements, and overhauls as required

  • Test drive vehicles to identify faults or confirm repairs

  • Ensure workshop tools, equipment and work areas are clean and safe

  • Adhere to all OH&S policies, procedures, and workshop safety standards

Essential Skills

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification)

  • At least 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role

  • Strong mechanical knowledge across a broad range of vehicles

  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively

 Highly Desirable Attributes

  • Automotive Air Conditioning Licence (ARCtick)

  • Experience using modern scan tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Basic literacy for job cards and diagnostics

  • Familiarity with logbook servicing

  • Strong communication skills
