Join Sunshine Coast Health as an Assistant in Nursing (Nurse Grade 1, Band 1 or Band 2 – Sterilising Services).

You'll provide person-centred support under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Midwife, contributing to safe, quality care. AINs assist with daily care needs and patient comfort, while AINs in Sterilising also clean, sterilise and maintain equipment to support infection control. Roles are available permanent, temporary or casual, with full-time, part-time and flexible hours across our services.

Based from Caloundra to Gympie, you'll join a values-based organisation that respects and promotes human rights. As part of our Base Grade Nursing campaign, you may complete online assessments, an interview and provide documentation. Applicants may also opt to be considered for the SCUH Permanent Nurse and Midwife Pool.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide safe, person-centred support under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife, contributing to quality care outcomes.

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, infection control practices, and workplace health and safety policies.

  • Maintain competence and practice within scope of role, in line with professional standards, codes of conduct, and Queensland Public Service values.

  • Support a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for patients, consumers, and colleagues, contributing to continuous improvement and teamwork.

Salary between $65,828 - $72,079 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $33.20 - $44.71 p.h, (Nurse Grade 1

  • Band

1) and between $71,234 - $73,319 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $35.92 - $45.48 p.h, (Nurse Grade 1

  • Band

2) employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) (Talent pipeline progression towards full time and part time vacancies across the SCH). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
