Surveying/Spatial Science Technician - NSW Government Pay Rate: $55.69 per hour + Super
Assignment Duration: Anticipated until 30th June 2026 with potential to extend
Location: Queanbeyan + regular travel & overnight stays
Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Surveying or Spatial Science Technician to join our team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide variety of projects, applying your technical expertise in the field under the guidance of a Senior Registered Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a diverse range of surveys including topographic, infrastructure, and cadastral surveys.
- Work independently on less complex surveys with accuracy and efficiency.
- Take ownership of survey equipment and vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance and readiness for use.
- Assist in project planning and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Key Challenges
- Field-based role requiring regular travel and overnight stays (weekly travel can be expected).
- Ability to walk long distances over varying and sometimes challenging terrain.
About You
- Tertiary qualification (TAFE or University) in Surveying or Spatial Science, or currently working towards completion.
- Demonstrated experience using modern survey instrumentation and applying surveying principles.
- Working knowledge using Trimble.
- NSW White Card required.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence with a willingness to travel extensively across NSW, including overnight stays.
