This position is classified
as a PACS Band 7 ($91,667 - $100,522) under the City
of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

a unique opportunity for a talented planner to join our dedicated
team in the role of Strategic Planner (DCP). Reporting to the
Manager Planning and Development, the successful candidate will
work constructively and collaboratively with teams across the
organisation on planning matters affecting the City to ensure a
co-ordinated approach.

As our new Strategic Planner
(DCP), you will take a lead role in the coordination of the
City’s development contribution plans in collaboration with
the City Finance, Engineering and Community Teams. This will
include the coordination of Annual Reviews, Annual Reports, DCP
Scheme Amendments, administering the DCP cross functional team and
working groups and providing advice and support to the organisation
in regard to DCP management and operations.

What
You'll NeedTo make an impact as our new Strategic
Planner (DCP), you will need:

  1. Experience working
    within the local government, State Government, or private
    consultancy context.
  2. Sound
    knowledge of the Western Australian Planning framework,
    including legislation and policy.
  3. Working
    knowledge of developer contribution schemes and related
    legislation and policies is highly desirable.
  4. Highly
    developed interpersonal, communication, networking and
    negotiation skills with an ability to provide a high level of
    customer service and interpret plans to customers.
  5. Excellent computer
    literacy skills.
  6. Effective time
    management, organisational skills, and analytical skills to be
    able to address complex matters and issues.
  7. Demonstrated ability to
    work in a team environment.
  8. Possession of a Drivers
    Licence.
  9. Tertiary
    qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or
    equivalent.
  10. Experience with PRINCE
    2, GIS/ AUTOCAD or equivalent software is
    desirable.
