About Us

Unique Care Services QLD is a registered NDIS provider committed to delivering person-centred, high-quality supports across Queensland. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Toowoomba to provide one-on-one community access supports for two young participants.

About the Role

We are recruiting Support Workers to support twin brothers, aged 11, who have a primary diagnosis of Intellectual Impairment and ASD Level 3. Each participant has their own unique strengths and support needs, and your role will focus on enabling them to safely access and engage in their local community.

This is an opportunity to make a positive difference by building trust, fostering independence, and supporting meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 community access supports (initially 2 hours per week, with a view to increase).
  • Support safe participation in community and recreational activities such as swimming, bike riding, walking in town, and sporting engagement.
  • Encourage development of road safety awareness and social/community engagement skills.
  • Support participants to build confidence in community settings while ensuring safety (note: participants can be flight risks if distracted).
  • Work in partnership with the family and Nominee/Guardian to deliver person-centred supports.

About the Participants

Loves water and swimming; requires guidance around personal boundaries and safety in public settings.

Socially aware and enjoys group/community activities; benefits from structured social experiences.

  • Both boys would benefit from positive male role models in their lives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Male Support Workers preferred (due to family preference and participant needs).
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with Intellectual Impairment and/or Autism is highly regarded.
  • Ability to manage behaviours safely, with patience and empathy.
  • Energetic, reliable, and committed to supporting community access goals.
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificates.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with insurance.

Benefits

  • Be part of a supportive, professional NDIS provider.
  • Opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of young participants and their family.
  • Ongoing hours with potential for growth as funding and supports increase.

Hours & Start Date

  • 2 hours per week per participant (4 hrs total initially)
  • Flexible days/times, increasing over time as funding allows.
