Job Description

Your Opportunity to Join our Team

As a Hatchery Assistant at Inghams, you will play a vital role in supporting the Mckees Hills team in NSW. This Casual position in the Farms & Hatchery department offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operations of our hatchery.

This role will be for 6am start, 3-4 days per week (including Saturdays).

Daily Tasks

  • Assisting with the general operation of the hatchery
  • Monitoring and maintaining optimal environmental conditions for egg incubation
  • Carrying out regular checks on equipment and reporting any issues
  • Handling and moving eggs and chicks with care and precision
  • Contributing to the health and welfare of poultry by following established protocols
  • Working collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient hatchery processes
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the hatchery environment

You Will Bring to This Role

  • Previous experience working in a hatchery or similar agricultural environment
  • Understanding of animal husbandry practices, particularly in poultry
  • Ability to follow strict biosecurity protocols and health & safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Familiarity with basic maintenance of hatchery equipment and facilities
