Care Squad is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join our team for two siblings, who require 24/7 specialised supports and consistency of care. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team providing life-changing support alongside health professionals and family members.

Position: Support Worker – Complex Care (Children’s Services)
Location: Murray Bridge

Client Profile:

  • Client A : Requires PEG feeding (6 times daily), physio, OT, and behaviour support. At risk of seizures (including catastrophic). Needs constant supervision, calm environments, and active overnight monitoring. Enjoys the beach, board games, and quiet community outings.
  • Client B : Non-verbal, sensory-seeking, requires full assistance with daily living. PEG-fed overnight, stroller for mobility, and female staff for personal care. Thrives on attention, enjoys hydrotherapy, car rides, and family time.
  • Clients are supported by Allied Health (speech therapy, OT, physiotherapy, behaviour support) and require staff who can follow detailed clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 complex support in-home, in hospital (if admitted), and community settings.
  • Administer PEG feeds, monitor seizure activity, and manage health routines.
  • Follow Allied Health plans and therapy programs (speech, physio, OT, behaviour).
  • Support participation in activities (hydrotherapy, beach, car rides, board games).
  • Maintain calm, structured environments and manage behaviours such as scratching, grabbing, or self-harm.
  • Liaise closely with family members, support coordinators, and health professionals.
  • Uphold Care Squad’s standards of safety, compassion, and inclusion.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent.
  • Experience in complex medical supports (PEG feeding, seizure awareness, enteral feeding pumps).
  • Strong behaviour support knowledge (no restrictive practices).
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • First Aid & CPR (Required).
  • Medication Administration competency (Required).
  • Driver’s Licence (Required).
  • Working with Children Check & National Police Clearance (Preferred).
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster including active nights and weekends.
  • Commitment to learning, resilience, and teamwork.
