About the Opportunity
Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) is seeking a Customer Contact Officer to join our Corporate Services Department.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for the community, ensuring all customer interactions—both in person and over the phone—are managed in line with Council’s Customer Service Charter. You will play an important role in providing quality service and accurate information across the full range of Council services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and handling inbound calls, and providing support with outbound calls as required.
- Delivering exceptional customer service across multiple channels, including over the counter.
- Processing financial transactions, using the POS system, and completing end-of-day banking procedures.
- Maintaining efficient work processes and procedures to support the smooth delivery of services.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) OR demonstrated experience in customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately.
- Previous banking experience (highly desirable).
