The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse (Clinical Response Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Be responsible for the monitoring of the Recognition of Deterioration Dashboard
  • Respond to identified patient deterioration
  • Provide education and support to nursing staff to develop skills
  • Respond to clinical codes and escalate patient deterioration or patients of concern

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent part time (64hrs p.f.) and Temporary part time (up to 6 months with possibility of extensions 64hrs p.f.)
  • $54.44 - $58.30 per hour

About Us

The Clinical Response Unit (CRU) is an integral part of the afterhours operations of Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS). The service is a cross-campus model covering Robina Hospital and Gold Coast University Hospital. The CRU Team comprises of medical, nursing and administration staff who are responsible for providing a high-level service to the clinical staff and patients of the GCHHS.

The team provide clinical mentorship and support to medical and nursing clinicians after hours, clinical leadership at code blue and code black activations 24/7 as well as recognition and response to the at risk and deteriorating patients.
