The Central Sterilising Department (CSD) at Townsville University Hospital plays a vital role in supporting surgical and clinical services by ensuring the safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices. The unit services Operating Theatres, Oral Health, wards, departments, and external clients, and provides support to other CSDs across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Competitive salary and benefits

• Salary between $35.92 –$38.12 per hour (Nurse Grade 3).
• 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.

About your opportunity

As an Enrolled Nurse in the Central Sterilising Department, you will contribute to the safe and effective reprocessing of medical devices under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be accountable for your practice and play a key role in maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety.

Requirements

• Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification.
• Registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate.
• Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or willingness to complete within 12 months.
• Evidence of vaccination or immunity to VPDs and TB screening as per Queensland Health policy.
• A probationary period may apply.
