The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares, largest single herd in the world and home to Five Founders Beef. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.

Marion Downs Station, QLD

Marion Downs Station, 1.2 million hectares located in the Queensland Channel Country, approx. 4 hours south of Mt Isa, 1 hour south of Boulia. Stunning country varying from floodplains to open rolling downs vegetation to desert country, the property includes Herbert Downs, Outstation.

The Role

Reporting to the Marion Downs Station Manager, the Machinery Operator maintains property roads, undertakes property maintenance, drainage works and erosion control.

Day To Day Duties Include

Operating Grader to maintain roads, drainage works and erosion controlMachinery operations for property maintenanceMaintains machinery in good working orderUndertakes mechanical prestart and general maintenanceUndertaking varied station tasks - when there is no grader work to be done, there is always plenty to do around the station (i.e. welding, fencing etc..)Assisting the crew when needed with adhoc general station duties.

Due to the size of Marion Downs, the Machinery Operator regularly camps and is equipped with self-contained mobile accommodation.

The Successful Candidate Will

Have experience operating a Grader, Loader, Dozer and other machineryHave good mechanical knowledge of equipmentHave relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in operating a Grader and other machineryBe able to take direction from the Station Manager as tasks may vary day to dayMaintain all station equipment as if it were your ownHold a current drivers license
